WELCOME TO THE BREAMORE RIDE 2011
The photo above, taken by AGC Photography, shows the exciting racing finish of Class 1 at 2010 ride.
THE BREAMORE RIDE has been in existence since the 1970s, originally run by EHPS, with an ER in 1975.
The ride’s original home was on Breamore Marshes, not far from the beautiful Elizabethan Breamore House, but to improve facilities moved to the spacious Tenantry Farm in 1997, with kind permission of Rob McLeod.
Several stalwart Organisers have looked after the Breamore ride over the years, and we hope you will continue to support this old established favourite under the continuing management of Joanne Wallis Baga, and the Mid South Group Committee. The revised route tried in 2010 was a resounding success, with competitors enjoying the miles of turf on the UK Chasers course, and the ERs taking advantage of the new Crew point on the last loop.
This years route will again take in some delightful scenery over the Breamore Estates, and finish on the UK Chasers course at Tenantry Farm. We are very grateful to Rob McLeod for the use of Tenantry Farm and the UK Chasers course, and to The Breamore Estates for permission to use parts of the estate.
THE SOUTH COAST TOURNAMENT FINALS
A brand new and exciting concept to introduce a little Challenge into your season!
For members of these groups: S. West, Wessex, Mid South, S. East
In 2011 The Breamore Ride is to host the finals of an exciting new competition open to members of the 4 groups with a border to the south coast, namely – S.W., Wessex, Mid South, and S.E.
There will be a finals class to suit everyone from ER specialists to complete Newcomers, the idea being to give everyone something competitive to aim for which is achievable by the majority.
The Finals CR classes will be judged on the Rufus System (as will ALL classes at Breamore) so as well as your normal grade, you will be placed in the class. Special rosettes, trophies and prizes to 6th.
For details of the Rufus Scoring System, see the ride info page, but briefly this system complements the grading charts, awarding points for an optimum heart rate and speed.
